Fruits and Veggies... Day 6....

So... good day, just finished day 6.... a success. Things are going well and it is getting easier. I have done 4-3-2-1 four times so far, and walked on one of the other days.... Coach Di doesn't have me scheduled for 4-3-2-1 tomorrow, but... if it's nice weather out tomorrow, I may go out for a run.

So, the food on this program has definitely been awesome! Tyler and I had the Chicken Parmesan today.... wow! It was very good, but TOO much food, I couldn't eat it all. Our dinner seemed HUGE! But, it is a 1500 calorie eating schedule.... I guess that is not huge. It's pretty amazing... all the vegetables we have been eating, so different than how we used to eat! But, how awesome, that is going to help us to get to OPTIMAL health!!! Reduce the risk of Type II Diabetes, Heart Disease, Cancer, Altzeimers, Arthritis.... and MANY more diseases... JUST FROM EATING 7-9 servings of FRUITS AND VEGETABLES!!! It is amazing how much it reduces the risk factors!! That was one of the most amazing things we learned in listening to Dr. Duke go through information with us! Study after study showed the results that eating fruits and vegetables can do to ones health. Who would've know that it was so important! But, I am now an AVID believer and VEGGIE eater! :) At Nutrilite, one of the Research Scientist, Yumei, said that if she was traveling the #1 supplement that she would take with her would be her Concentrated Fruits and Vegetables..... as an IBO, I would think - "WHY? Not your Double X?" - Her response was, when she travels it is very likely that she is not getting enough fruits and vegetables... so at least taking her Concentrated Fruits and Vegetables she can get 5-10 servings of them!! I am now an AVID believer in that supplement!! A great way to supplement the diet.... and still get the valuable Phytonutrients!!

.... later, I'll maybe get into detail what my risk factors were after all the tests we had our first day at the Center for Optimal Health.

Until then... I'm going to head to bed. Get to wake up for church tomorrow! Yeah! Have missed the past several weeks, so I'm excited to be back.

TIP OF THE DAY: When you are eating.... pile on the fruits and veggies on your plate! Get full off of those, before your other food comes out! You can practically eat as many as you want with minimal calories. If you have the option, get a variety of different colors of fruits and vegetables... not only does it make your plate look pretty, but the different colors contain different valuable phytonutrients. This helps boost your immune system, and they are loaded with antioxidants! Next time you are out to eat, ask for an extra portion of veggies!

  1. Thanks for making this blog Amy. I'm excited to hear about your success!
Question for you: you said you and Tyler have been eating all kinds of different fruits and veggies...any recommendations on good ones to try/eat regularly? I usually get in the regulars: apples, carrots, green beans, etc.
    Thanks!

  2. Hey Gaynelle!
I'm super excited to share.... I think the biggest thing as you are choosing the fruits and veggies.... try to have a variety per meal. Like for example... just today the fruits I've had have been blueberries, rasberries, banana & an apple. - Had the blueberries and rasberries in a shake this morning, and then the banana and apple 2 different times this afternoon. We also have been doing strawberries a lot... and have been doing some cantelope so far.

Try cooking with a lot of different colors... we had beef stir fry tonight.... 1 serving included 3 oz of beef cut in cubes, 1/2 cup EACH of celery, onion, yellow squash, carrots & broccoli!!! WOW! All in ONE meal!!! The greater the variety of colors, the better and different array of phytonutrients you are going to get!!

Do you have the "Trim Body System" book?? It literally walks it ALL out for you in there, and plans in all the variety of fruits and veggies. :)

Great to hear from you! Let me know if I can do anything else!! :)
